About Shelbee

"I choose curious creativity. Life becomes less perfect, but more beautiful."

My Story

I am an artist, author, and spiritual-life coach who believes that because beauty is a gift, everything changes when we shift our perspective to observe with a curious heart. I am passionate about Jesus, the arts, my family, and curiously seeking to find the valuable treasure in those around us.

I once wrote, “The experience of beauty is unique. Do not leave it behind when life gets hard.”

In 2017, I coupled painting patterns & design to a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family systems. This was the result of my own personal wilderness journey and the need to know how families stay together… and fall apart. Life coaching became an extension of the creative process.

I believe that we are each a “one of a kind original” and yet the system from which we have grown becomes a part of the life system we create as an inheritance. Life changes. The place of change and transition is often the place we feel stuck. Just like in painting, we must often “destroy to create” when too much information is causing chaos to reign.

I hope to inspire everyone to adopt a lifestyle of curious creativity that leads to joy, healing, and peace.

Living Creative

Here’s a picture of my family when I knew I was a creative genius. Yes. I was about three. I’m the one in the lower left.

Remember childhood? We were creators when we were young! We didn’t care what anyone thought back then. Playing creative genius is normal “kid life”. With every year, the seriousness of life -and people’s opinions heard through wounded hearing- suck the genius right out of us!

So, where is the joy when the world is in serious crisis?
Is it okay to find beauty and joy and peace in these days?

Yes, I say! It is crucial.

My hope is that you learn how to experience some joy and find beauty as part of your own story. When you begin to take on the day with a good listener and coach, a small spark of creative genius strategy ignites your perspective…of possibility…of potential perhaps? Maybe…you even pick up a paintbrush or pen, yourself, and inspire a troubled world looking for hope. Life is now. By the way, God is FOR you…and that makes all the difference.
